FRANKLIN COVEY - 4 Disciplines of Execution

4dx
Project Motivation:

FranklinCovey was looking for an avenue to compliment their consulting business by developing a communication system that would provide transparency of goals and successes between client organization teams and their project leaders. Essentially, they were looking for a way to help participants implement the principles and processes learned in the 4 Disciplines work sessions.

Strategy:

RAIN sought to develop an application that would oversee teams in an organization by assisting in managing and communicating tasks, objectives, and goals. The application also serves as a reporting tool for executive-level users. Managers can see organization-wide reports on goal alignment, certification process, and application utilization.

Campaign:

The final developed application assists organizations by helping them to manage and communicate tasks, objectives and goals. It also includes an e-learning system, complete with a user tracker to follow them through the learning and application certification process. A new addition to the system enables teams to see goals up through the chain of command and system usage for teams below.

The most creative elements of the system come from the administrative end where company executives can monitor user progress through the materials. The new goal cascading piece allows people in an organization to see how team goals align, and how well subordinates are using the system to input tasks and objectives.

As the product’s use has grown and matured, RAIN has served as a long-term consultant by helping to brainstorm and implement system enhancements, while optimizing and fine tuning the application’s performance.

FranklinCovey uses the application as a companion offering to a workshop course they offer for corporate clients. They are now engaging organizations and using the tool as a way to bring the curriculum to an entire organization at once.

Results

Since 2006, the user base has tripled. Large clients, such as ZionsBank, have implemented the program company-wide. The product has matured to a point where Franklin Covey is considering monetizing some of the functionality by offering for-pay features or subscription fees.
